The outgoing police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) met with Key staff of Somali Development Services to discuss the continuation and strengthening of the relationship between the police and the Somali community.

Somali Development Services participated in the Police Career Discovery Day (Recruitment Event) by distributing the event promotional materials and informed the community of the event and the importance of having the Somali community members taking part in this event.

Tell Mama’s East Midlands Advisory Board members held a meeting at SDS to discuss Islamophobia.

Leicester police meeting with the members of the Somali community at Somali Development services to discuss improving the relationship between the police and the Somali Youth.

Meet the Stonegate Ward Neighbourhood Team.

The North Evington Neighbourhood Team will be holding a police surgery at Somali Development Services.

Neighbourhood meetings are held at least once a month in your area. They are open to everyone and give you the chance to meet your local police officers and police community support officers.

You can also tell your neighbourhood team about the issues that may concern you, giving you the opportunity to have your say about policing in the area where you live.

Somali Cultural event will be organised by SDS
The Somali Cultural event was the first of its kind to be held in Leicester. It was put together to showcase the richness and diversity of Somali Culture. Events such as these build community cohesion and spirit and exist to reverse some of the negative images and concepts you might hold of a country such as Somalia.
