Cancer Support

Somali Development Services is launching a Cancer Information Project to raise awareness about cancer within the Somali community and other ethnic minority groups in Leicester. Our goal is to provide support, information, and advice to cancer patients, survivors, and their families. Through information sessions and individual contacts, we will guide them on accessing relevant services, making referrals, and attending appointments. Many individuals from ethnic minority communities are unaware of available cancer screenings and support services, so SDS aims to bridge this gap by empowering them with accurate information.

We aim to empower individuals by facilitating access to relevant services, offering accurate information through trained staff and volunteers, and emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle in preventing cancer.
